Goodlettsville is a compact place with an interstate through the middle of it, and that shapes how we schedule. From our lot, Page Heights is three minutes, Woodwyn Hills and Windsor Green are four, and the far end of Union Hill Road is eleven. Nothing in this city is a trip we have to plan around, which is why an ordinary grind here waits days rather than weeks.

The practical effect is that we bundle by direction rather than by day. If we are on Long Hollow Pike for a Braxton Park job in the morning, Mansker Creek Estates and Copper Creek are on the way home, and a second stump on that run costs less than the same stump booked in isolation. When you call, it is always worth asking what we already have on your side of town that week.

The county line runs through it, and we ignore it

The northern half of the city is Sumner County and the southern half is Davidson, which affects your schools, your assessor and where you take your own debris. It has never affected a price we quote. Twelve Stones Crossing and Cimmaron Trace on the Sumner side get the same rate as Goodlettsville Heights and Gatewood down in the Rivergate belt.

What does change across town is the ground. North and east of Long Hollow Pike you are in newer subdivisions on graded farm ground, where the stumps that matter are old fencerow hardwoods sitting in imported fill. West and south toward Dickerson Pike and Dry Creek, the housing is postwar and the trees were planted with the houses, so the stumps are seventy-year-old oaks with roots under sidewalks and sewer laterals. Up on the ridge at Woodwyn Hills the limestone is close enough to the surface to cap how deep anyone can grind. Down in the Dry Creek bottom the soil holds water for days. On a weekday you will usually have a firm price within a couple of hours, and it is the price we invoice rather than an estimate we revise in your driveway.
